What Does Home Mean To You?
My Gidan. My Home. The home and the identity that you create for yourself as an immigrant, a world traveller, a lover of other cultures. Never feeling quite at home anywhere but also at home everywhere.
We’re reaching out to YOU to hear your stories of what home means to you and will share them over the next couple weeks. If you'd like to be featured send us an email at [email protected]
Our first featured story is about Brandon Hamilton (no relation to Alexander Hamilton). Originally from Chicago, Brandon has lived in DC when he attended Howard University, and then Portland OR to attend Reed College before moving to New York for work. His love for adventure, travel and other cultures made him take a bold leap when the opportunity presented itself to move London for work.
Living in London has afforded Brandon great opportunity to travel and visit other nearby European countries as well as Northern African countries like Morocco. He one day plans to visit Ghana or Nigeria or somewhere in West Africa. Here is what Brandon has to say about home:
Home is the limit of your endurance, the farthest point of your outstretched hand. Your North Star when you’ve almost arrived. Almost!”
